| out of Craftsman. They have the best warranty. There are Sears everywhere and they don't bat an eyelash when you return something. Your workhorse will be your 3/8 drive sockets, but the half-inch are needed almost as much. Get a half inch breaker bar. Get some deep sockets. Torque wrench good idea. Timing light. Maybe a vacuum leak tester. The one tool I find to come in the most handy under the hood for tinkering on all those damn Z connectors, sensors and hoses is a pair of long, twelve inch curved needle nose pliers. Natch, you will get tons more tools by buying a multi-set, but sometimes you will get a bunch of stuff you don't really need. Can you possibly not spend down the whole amount now, buy some tools, live with them for a bit, then find out what you still want and get it a little bit down the road? Look for my post above on the Gripmaster self adjusting locking pliers. They get my vote for the best, "if I could only carry one tool" tool. Congratulations, working on your own car with your own tools is like a rite of passage, argh, argh, argh, argh . . . [Tim Allen sounds] lol.
